Thailand is one of the oldest countries in the whole Asian continent and that is why the art & history of Thailand has lots of things to offer to the tourists coming over here. The exotic culture of Thailand is something that draws the attention of thousands of people throughout the whole world. There are lots of places in this country that are known for their importance in the ground of all the historical elements in this country. Thailand has always been an active country in the history of the whole world and the art that has grown over here is one of the main inspirations for the artists throughout the world. There are some of the greatest museums which are located in this country and they are the true representatives of the art & history of Thailand.
There are some of the vital evidences that have been found in this country which proves the evidence of the prehistoric cultures developing in Thailand. Some of the most important evidences are also there that tells the historians about the paleolithic age when the main civilization in this country began. Khmer empire was one of the main empires in the history of Thailand. This is the empire that worked on various projects in this country and as a matter of fact all the famous architectural patterns that have been established in this country are the main elements on which the history of this country is dependent.
There were some of the ancient states in Thailand which have been discovered by the hardest trysts of the historians. Among them the mentionable ones are Mon, Khmer, and some of the other parts as well which actually belonged to the rule of the Malay kingdom. Buddhism is the main religion which has developed over here. There are lots of influence of Buddhism on the culture in Thailand. All the people in this country are not Buddhist though, this is the predominant religion over here. The city of Bangkok is the capital and the establishment of the city took place at the time of the Chakri dynasty. The name of king Rama is very important in this context.
There are also other influences from the neighboring countries as well. There are also some of the influences that came on the religious background of the Hindus in India and also in some of the other neighboring countries. So, this can be said that the art & history of Thailand is really varied a lot. And visiting this country is equivalent to visiting all the countries in Asia. Apart from the cultural side there are many of the beautiful places which are scattered throughout the country and these are places which have cast their influences in the culture of this country. Thailand also fought through bravely during the time of the great Asian crisis in the year 1997 and this was when Thailand proved to be one of the most powerful countries in the whole Asian continent. The calendar which is followed in this country is actually the Buddhist calender.
