Amazon is famous for its parks and wildlife. Amazon is the South American river and is largest in world by volume. Because of its huge dimension the Amazon River is also called as The River Sea. The river is surrounded by the Amazon Rainforest that begins from the eastern edge of the Andes. The Amazon holds the pride of being the largest rainforest in world and it also holds a great ecological implication. There are many forests and parks in the Amazon Jungle. The rainforest here has a unique biodiversity which also serves a home to about 2.5 million insect species, tens of thousands of plants, and some 2,000 birds and mammals. There are many parks and national forests located in Amazon. Some other parks are discussed below:
Antisana Ecological Reserve: The Antisana Ecological Reserve includes about 10 ecological zones. These zones range from páramo to lowland rainforest along with different climates, vegetation and wildlife. The park offers the main attraction the snow-capped Antisana Volcano, the fourth highest peak in Ecuador. The park also offers some trekking opportunities to its visitors including the less traveled Guacamayos mountain range th4e range that extends from the Sumaco-Galeras National Park. The park also offers the water body attractions. The park is located at 3900m. The place is also perfect for trout fishing.
Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve: This ecological reserve was founded in the year 1970. The park also offers several of Ecuador's third highest mountains, Cayambe. This is a protected territory sloping down in the Amazon basin. The basin offers many interesting sites from floral species and the typical páramo vegetation. This vegetation offers great economic and medicinal value like orchids, balsa wood, cedar, laurel, sangre de drago, and ayahuasca.
Llangantes National Park: The Llangantes mountain range one of the most isolated and difficult hike located in the Ecuador. This park is located in the provinces of Tungurahua, Cotopaxi, and Napo. The park offers some of the challenging hikes and many beautiful trout and salmon filled lagoons. The park also offers varied trees like the ceibo, the chuncho, and cedar decorates. The park was created in the year 1991 and since then it still does not offer an administration office or lodging for visitors.
Sangay National Park: The Sangay National Park serves as one of the most remote areas located in Ecudor. Located in its boundaries there are three of the country’s highest peaks including the Tungurahua Volcano, El Altar, and Sangay. The place also offers being home to several endangered species such as tapirs, ocelots, pumas, and porcupines even hunting has lessened their ratio. The vegetation in the park includes highland grasses and shrubs and cloud forests in the East.
Sumaco-Galeras National Park: The Sumaco-Galeras National Park located in the Ecuador is one of the least traveled parks. The most common method of visiting the park is to hike up the Sumaco Volcano, one of Ecuador's less popular volcanoes due to its remote forested location.
